Ok so lets set the scene…. It’s a marriage outdoors in the middle of a field in the beautiful English countryside. There’s a Teepee which doesn’t quite hold all the guests as it’s going to be gorgeous and anyway the seating will be outside on hay bales. There will be champagne and cream teas on the lawn after the ceremony and a fab open air disco in the evening. Just perfect!
Oh oh ……. RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN and then some more! Did it matter – not one bit. Katy and James are probably two of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. I fell in love with them both within five minutes of meeting them. I was so worried that it would rain and spoil everything for them but actually I think the torrential rain made the day. Wellies were the smartest footwear choice and running around in the rain just didn’t seem to bother anyone. The children loved getting soaked and muddying their clothes – and so did Katy!
They were rewarded in the evening with the most amazing sunset for the first dance.
For those of you who don’t know me, I always shed a tear at our weddings but I admit to actually blubbing at this one. It was just a master class in doing your wedding ‘your way’, absolute non-conformist brilliance.
Totally loved it.
