Lizzie and Oliver – Firth Court Wedding

There has been a bit of a hoo haa recently within the wedding industry decrying the current fascination for the over production of weddings. Leaving many brides worrying whether their wedding is going to live up to the trend. Now I love a beautifully styled wedding as much as anyone else but I also love, and always have done, simple, classic elegant weddings which allow the focus to be on the people, the love and the atmosphere.

Lizzie and Oliver’s recent wedding at Firth Court was a master class in classic, elegant wedding design.  Everything was simply beautiful. Heart stoppingly, jaw droppingly beautiful and I loved every moment.

Pre Wedding Shoots

To Pre-Wed Shoot or Not Pre-Wed Shoot?……..Do you need one? Is it something you feel would be beneficial to you?

From our point of view we find that most couples are perfectly happy in front of the camera on their wedding day without a pre wedding shoot and that they don’t necessarily need that practice run. Others, however, are anxious and really appreciate the opportunity to see how it feels to be in front of the camera. They usually find out that the experience wasn’t nearly as painful as they had imagined and are always amazed at how fantastic they can look on camera when they have their photographs taken professionally.

Either way a Pre Wedding Shoot is a great excuse to get yourself dolled up and have some gorgeous shots to record how you looked on the cusp of marriage. They are also great for signature frames, signing books and wedding gifts for parents!

Sessions are £250 and include all images on disc, usually around 100, for you to use as you wish.

Helen and Matt – Croyde Bay Wedding

Oh my, Oh my……this wedding blew my socks off!

When we first met with Helen and Matt they were so full of excitement about their wedding and what they had planned that we knew it was going to be great fun and they so didn’t disappoint, it was without doubt one of the most fun weddings we have ever photographed.

Helen had always known that she wanted to have her wedding in glorious Croyde Bay in North Devon where she had holidayed with her family every year whilst growing up. So together they planned an epic wedding weekend inviting all of their nearest and dearest and they had an absolute ball.

One of their dreams was for sunset shots on the beach (we had fingers and toes crossed all week) and so off we went with the wedding party after dinner for what turned out to be one of the best half hour’s I have ever experienced as a wedding photographer ……. amazing.!!

Then as if that wasn’t enough the dancing was kicked off with a spoof ‘Strictly’ video staring the Helen and Matt and then their first dance was a brilliant take on the Saturday Night Fever classic ‘More Than A Woman’, one of my all time fave tunes. I absolutely LOVED it, blubbed uncontrollably and had to hide behind the speakers.

Just fantastic, thanks so much guys for asking us to document such a brilliant day.

  • An “all-Action” wedding! What a great set of pictures. They must be delighted with your work. Another triumph for Shoot! Love you guys XXXXXX

  • Fabulous photographs taken at a wonderful wedding.

  • what can i say apart from I LOVE IT ! looks as though it was a fabulous day from start to finish !

Anna and Nick – Ripon Cathedral Wedding

Oh I absolutely loved this wedding, everything about it. The beautiful Ian Stuart dress (adore the sleeves!), the Jimmy Choos, the prettiest of flowers adorned with adorable buttons and pearls, stunning Ripon Cathedral, the Papakata tents and all of the gorgeous details inside.

It was such a gloriously happy day that even the rain couldn’t dampen the high spirits. In fact, as is usually the case, it seemed to bring out the best in people and the atmosphere was truly fantastic.

Anna and Nick were amazing and not at all phased about having their personal shots done in the pouring rain, Weddington Boots and brollie to hand off we set  to the village green for 15 minutes of rain drenched fun…. what a pair of troopers!

Thank you for such a brilliant day, we loved it!

  • GORGEOUS!!! What a beautiful happy day, Love the brolly and I recognise those wellies, I did the shoot for Weddington Boots to launch them :)

  • Jo, Simon, What an absolutely stunning set of photographs (helped by an amazingly beautiful bride and handsome groom!, not to mention a lovely Mum and adorable Grandma). You have certainly done them proud and given them memories in pictures to treasure for ever. I know Sarah will love them as much as I do (when she returns and gets the chance to see them !!)

  • Hi Jo, Simon,

That was my longest coffee break this week looking at your latest wedding what a stunning bride. Again just wonderful photographs, love the rain shots just adds to the atmosphere. Yes I agree with you both, you had a great day. Gosh just spilt some on my desk. :-)

Caz and Jim – Chilston Park Hotel Wedding

This is an unusual post for me as I feel sadly detached from it. We are often asked ‘What happens if you are ill on the day of our wedding’ and we always answer in the same way which is that in almost ten years of photographing weddings neither of us have missed a single moment. We have both photographed weddings feeling like death we’ve been so ill on occasions and I have missed a couple after surgeries which we planned but we’ve never actually been too ill to turn up on the day. Until now….

We travelled down to the lovely Chilston Park Hotel in Kent to photograph the wedding of the gorgeous Caz and Jim, brother and sister-in-law to Sally and Andy whose wedding we photographed a few years ago.  Unfortunately I think I had food poisening and began to feel ill on the journey down. By the following morning I felt so ill I literally couldn’t keep out of the bathroom and missed most of the day. I made it our of our room to photograph the ceremony and Caz and Jim but it felt like an out of body experience and I really don’t ever want to feel like that again. God knows what the guests thought of me, I must have looked a complete zombie.

I am so sorry for Caz and Jim that I was ill, and also to Sally and Andy who I didn’t get a chance to chat to but thank god for Simon who was amazing as lone photographer and nurse to me too (love that man!).

Thank you for being so understanding guys, I am so sad I missed such an amazing day!!
