For so many reasons I loved this wedding, possibly the dress (to die for) or the shoes (I need them) or the church (a career ambition) or that it was in London on my birthday which meant breakfast at The Wolseley and shopping the day after. But really the best bit, as it always is, was that the people were fabulous.
Clair and Carl are just amazing people, party people, with a brilliant bunch of friends and wonderful families. The ceremony was held within the very beautiful OBE Chapel at St Paul’s Cathedral and it was more than a privilege to witness that. The formality of it was beautiful and appropriate but the genius of this wedding was that the reception was as far removed from the formality of that as you could get. Held in the very cool Revolution Bar in America’s Square, the Veuve Cliquot flowed and Clair and Carl’s personalized cocktails did just what they were meant to do … get-you-drunk-and-let-your-hair-down and oh did they all do that!
Just a brilliant wedding, a true celebration and we absolutely loved it!
What made it really special for us was that we got to see lots of familiar faces too. Namely Kate & Andy (Clair’s sister), Andy & Lisa and Tamsin & Alex who’s weddings we have photographed over the years…. wonderful!!!
Merry Christmas!!! xxx

One of the best bits to being a wedding photographer for me is getting to photograph beautiful wedding dresses week in week out. I never, ever tire of them. Each and every one has its own beauty and personality and I love the way that they reflect the personality of a bride.
When the lovely Emily Harrison of Emily Bridal Wear and Sara Tehrani of Hair Kandi in Sheffield asked if we’d like to photograph one of Emily’s new collections from Enzoani Couture I jumped at the chance.
So off we all headed to the ever gorgeous Stancliffe Hall in Derbyshire, which has the most perfect light, to do just that and I LOVED it! Jordan, our model, was just beautiful, I could have photographed her all day long. She looked amazing with her hair beautifully dressed by Katie Hibberd at Hair Kandi who are now offering a bridal hair service to their clients too. Isn’t it amazing how a hair style can totally transform how you see someone. In the first images here Jordan looks very high fashion and edgy but in the later ones with the classic bun she looks timeless and angelic. I love them both.
Huge thanks to the lovely staff at Stancliffe for looking after us and also to Joy at Unique Wedding Planning for being there and making me giggle as usual!

I know we have turned down portraits this year as we decided that we just couldn’t really find the time during wedding season to do them, so I am sorry to those of you who we said no to. However, Lisa and Dean and their gorgeous kids were given a Lifestyle Shoot by Katie and James (one of our all time favourite couples) as a present for hosting their fabulous wedding a couple of years ago. Lisa and Dean have only just been able to organise the shoot and here are the results. We had a fantastic afternoon with them at their gorgeous home. She really won’t like me saying this as she is the most humble of people but Lisa is an inspirational person and after a very tough couple of years she’s back on top and her family are a credit to her…. what an amazing person she is!

The last wedding of the season is always accompanied by a bag of mixed feelings. Sadness that it’s all over for another year but happiness too as it means we will get to spend time with our friends and family again soon. It’s a bit like the last day of school when you’re giddy because you know the holidays are coming.
So off we went to photograph Elizabeth and Anthony’s wedding and we couldn’t have been blessed with a more beautiful day. The lemon and grey colour scheme was just gorgeous and totally emphasised by the late Indian summer sunshine. Elizabeth, dressed in Blue By Enzoani from the brilliant Emily Bridal Wear looked amazing. Anthony looked rather dapper too and they were both just so beautiful to photograph.
Wortley Hall provided the perfect back drop and best of all the guests were wonderful, Elizabeth and Anthony have the most fantastic families and my jaw ached from smiling by the time we left!
Thank you for making our last wedding of the season so perfect. xx

Good God these are absolutely stunning! Laine is beautiful, and they are SO tastefully executed. Nothing you two pull out the bag surprises me, but as these are quite exceptional. And Laine – most of us look like the back end of a bus at this stage, but you look truly gorgeous! x
