A couple of weeks ago we had the very great pleasure of photographing the fabulous wedding of Maxine and Neil. Every detail was to die for. Maxine was so, so pretty in her stunning Paloma Blanca dress. The flowers were perfectly executed by the very talented Sarah at Flowers For Laura and Whirlowbrook Hall had never looked so pretty, styled by the oh so talented Julia at Go Glorious.

I have been dying for these guys to get back from honeymoon to post this! I just loved everything about it, Maxine and Neil were a joy to work with and the whole thing was simply beautiful. Congratulations guys, you were amazing!

How many times has a bride said to me that she just wants to do it all over again? Well this gorgeous girl gets to do just that! Carol and Narinder are having two ceremonies to celebrate their marriage and last week took us to the fabulous Carlton Towers, which is spectacular and the perfect wedding venue, honestly, seriously gorgeous. A venue like this calls for a spectacular dress and Carol looked jaw dropping in an ivory satin gown with the most beautiful detailing and amazing train.  Every detail was perfection.

As they also wanted to have their wedding filmed we needed to call on the talents of another photographer to shoot alongside me whilst Si took on the filming. We were thrilled to be able to work with our friend Gill Maheu again – she’s a fabulous photographer and just an all round lovely person, thank you Gill for making our job so much easier and so much fun.

The whole day was just brilliant, fabulous fun with fabulous people and I can’t wait to do it all again this Saturday but for now here’s part one of wedding number one!

  • Ooh – please please please tell me where the gorgeous one-shoulder dress your bridesmaid is wearing came from. Feeling a bit jealous as my best friend had purple for her theme, so I feel like I can’t have it too, despite repeatedly being drawn to it! Fabulous photos Jo and all as always x

  • Hi jo

Jo, Si and Gill – Thank you so very very much! I can’t believe how wonderful these photos are and can’t help feeling just a little tearful as I look through them again. Thank you so much for sharing both of our days with us, and leaving us with such a fantastic reminder that we can treasure for always. We all had so much fun with you, and can’t believe how easy you made it seem. We are so excited to see the rest of the photos and the video… ‘I gotta feelin’ they are going to be great!

Many many thanks, Carol and Narinder x

  • You always do the best bridal prep shots and these are once again superb. I love the shot of Carol walking down the stairs in her dress – that angle blew my mind a little :)

I love rainy wedding days! Now this might sound a bit odd but I prefer them to really bright sunny days. Most photographers prefer the flat grey light that rain brings to bright sunshine which means horrid shadows on faces and squinty brides and grooms! We have many conversations with couples about how worried they are that it may rain on their wedding day and we say the same thing to all of them. All the worrying in the world won’t stop it raining and if it does it really doesn’t matter, you will take it in your stride and if anything it will make your day even more memorable.

Of course a great venue with lovely interiors always helps so when we woke up to rain on the morning of Cath & Rich’s wedding we knew everything was going to be just fine….. Ranmoor Church and The Maynard Arms in Grindleford, Derbyshire – the perfect combination.  Cath looked amazing in her fabulous ivory satin dress, the bridesmaids were knock out glamorous in the deepest purple and they had the cutest of flowergirls. The happy couple’s beautiful baby girl was a complete poppet and totally stole the show!

Loved it!

Wow! The pictures look beautiful and really capture the day! I especially love the picture of my crazy, wild-eyed kids tearing across the reception lawn in an all-out frenzy ;) And the picture of the girls looking at each other is another one I want! Emmie looks precious and you guys look great and so happy… I especially love the one of you at the front of the church with the stained glass windows — you need a big picture of that one!

  • Fantastic pictures of an amazing day! Cath, you look so beautiful and the pictures really capture how happy you and rich are and what a perfect couple you make. Loved your wedding day and I just wish we could do it all!!! xx

We recently had the very great pleasure of filming Lydia and Andrew’s wedding day at Thrumpton Hall and My Oh My it was utterly beautiful.

Lydia is one of the founders of the brilliant wedding and events magazine Save The Date so I expected some wedding heroics and crikey did she give us some – it was a truly awsome. She looked totally amazing from her incredible David Fielden lace dress and pink suede shoes to one of the best ‘up do’s’ ive ever seen – all thanks to the very talented James White Hair.

Guys, you are a fabulous couple and honestly one of the loveliest we have had the pleasure of working with. Thank you for asking us to be a part of your very special day.

We wish you all the love, joy and happiness in the world. xx

Well, the wedding day of one of my favorite families arrived and I was incredibly excited about it. I expected relaxed glamour and I got it in bucket loads. Honestly this family are just so COOOL ! Melissa is a superwoman and is the only bride I have ever known who found the time to prepare lunch for 25 as well as play a piece on the piano amidst all the preparations!

All of the family prepared together at their amazing home and then travelled to the gorgeous venue – Staunton Harold Hall – on their very own bus (yes they have a bus!) to spend time with their guests before they married.

The civil ceremony was both moving and hilarious in turn, with the children reading and the best man presenting the rings to Andy still wrapped up in bags and boxes! They followed with a blessing in the beautiful church on the Estate.

Then it was time to celebrate, the champagne flowed, and I mean REALLY flowed, the atmosphere was fabulous and everyone laughed and ate and drank and danced and it was just ….. well, just perfection!

We were joined in the morning by the extremely talented portrait photographer Jennifer Clare who introduced us to Melissa and Andy and without whom we wouldn’t have got to photograph this amazing day so thank you Jen!
