We had an amazing day with Emma and Damian last week, Chatsworth House on a perfect summer’s day takes some beating for the perfect backdrop. Emma made her way to the service in style by way of horse and carriage and it’s quite something to hear the horses cantering up on the approach to the stables – kind of makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck! We always love the trip around the gardens on the golf buggy following the ceremony for those all important personal shots, its just such fantastic fun. We were able to get a new position for a shot this time on the south side of the Emperor Fountain -thanks to the gardeners at Chatsworth for trimming the long grass! Emma and Damian are now off to Italy for their honeymoon and we wish them all the joy and happiness in the world, they are a great couple and we loved our day with them.

We are really looking forward to Laura and Charles’s wedding in a couple of weeks time. It going to be really beautiful, country church, marquee on the lawn in the most idyllic location possible – can’t wait. We caught up with them recently for a quick pre wedding shoot.

We recently took on the task of both photographing and filming a wedding on the same day – phew it was quite scary as we had never done the two together before and the pressure was on i’ll be honest. Our great friend and colleague  Gill Maheu came over from France to help us out. Photography is our first love so there was no way the filming was going to compromise on that but we are really, really pleased with the results. The wedding was just beautiful, Helen and Stuart were a fantastic couple who we loved being with and we are very grateful to them for allowing us to use them as guniea pigs on this project! They made the job in hand a pleasure to do. Click here to see a short version of the film

Ok so lets set the scene…. It’s a marriage outdoors in the middle of a field in the beautiful English countryside. There’s a Tepee which doesn’t quite hold all the guests as it’s going to be gorgeous and anyway the seating will be outside on hay bales. There will be champagne and cream teas on the lawn after the ceremony and a fab open air disco in the evening, oh yes and we’ve agreed to photograph AND film the wedding too – no worries. Hang on what’s this ……. RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN and then some more! Did it matter – not one jot. Katy and James are probably two of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. I fell in love with them both within five minutes of meeting them. I was so worried that it would rain and spoil everything for them but actually I think it made the day. Wellies were the chicest footwear choice and running around in the rain just didn’t seem to bother anyone. The children loved getting soaked and muddying their clothes – and so did Katy! They were rewarded in the evening with the most amazing sunset for the first dance. Now, for those of you who don’t know me, I always shed a tear at our weddings but I admit to actually blubbing at this one. It was all just so utterly, fantastically, brilliantly amazing. We LOVED it!!!!!

Watch out for the link to their film soon.
